Callmoat is an AI receptionist for your real phone number. It answers the calls you do not recognize, works out what the caller actually wants, and hands you only the ones worth taking. When a call turns out to be a scam, it does something better than hanging up.
The problem
Your phone is not on your side
Most people no longer answer unknown numbers, which means the legitimate ones — the pharmacy, the contractor, the school — get missed alongside the fraud. Call blocking helps with the numbers you already know about, and does nothing about the rest.
Meanwhile the calls that do get through are optimized against exactly the people least equipped to spot them.

You see the conversation as it happens, in text, without picking up. No guessing from a caller ID that tells you nothing.

Transfer the call to yourself, send it to voicemail, or leave Marge to finish. One tap, mid-call.

Hang up on a scammer and you have solved your problem for ninety seconds. They dial the next number on the list, and that number belongs to someone who might not recognize what is happening.
ScamJam keeps them on the line. Marge stays engaged, patient, and endlessly cooperative — and gradually becomes more confused, more talkative, and less useful. She never quite understands the account number. She has one more question. She is very sorry, and very happy to keep helping.
The economics of phone fraud depend on volume. Every minute spent going nowhere with Marge is a minute not spent on somebody's parent.

Recording and consent
Stated up front, every time
Callmoat announces at the start of every screened call that the call may be recorded, before any conversation takes place. That notice is part of the greeting and cannot be turned off — not by you, and not by us.
Screened calls are processed to produce your transcript. They are not sold, and they are not shared.
Marge does not disclose information about you to a caller, and does not invent any. She is a receptionist, not a representative.
Status
Where the build is
Callmoat is in active development for Android, currently in private beta with a small group of internal testers on live carrier networks. It is not yet available publicly and there is no waitlist to join — but there is an inbox.
Callmoat is built by Praxlogic, which also builds Praxlogic Charter AI and provides contract engineering services.
